Nerd Stuff Is Kind of, Like, My Whole Thing.

Musician and Composer Tre Watson holding a Loporrit figurine from Final Fantasy XIV, smiling brightly against a dark background with colored lighting.

My Name is Tre Watson, and I’m an Independent Composer, Arranger, Multi-Instrumentalist, Vocalist & Voiceover Artist, Producer, Mixing & Mastering Engineer, and Videographer/Editor (Sheesh, what DON’T I do?) from the beautiful city of Baltimore, Maryland. I’m known for quite a few roles and projects, but I think the most prominent ones are, in my opinion, Riot Games, as a Composer for Pentakill III: Lost Chapter and 2XKO (Formerly Project L), National Public Radio as a daily Audio Engineer and occasional written Columnist and Voiceover, and GEA, Un Pour Tous, and Black Ink Productions’s North American Tour of Naruto: The Symphonic Experience as the Tenor Singer.

I have a wide and varied background and skillset formed from twenty years of development in Live Music Performance, Radio, and as a Composer, and I believe it affords me quite a bit of versatility, experience, and situational taste that has always guided me towards what I believe is most important in my work, which has always remained the same: drawing out what we identify emotionally in what we observe sonically. That is to say: Connecting the mind and heart to the ears. Whether you well up with tears at the Crescendo of an orchestral movement, or you stank-face and Pigeon-Neck at groovy multi-meter breakdowns, in my opinion, the most important thing is that it connects to you in the most real, visceral way.

I’ve done Production, Arrangement, and Audio Engineering for Artists with portfolios both large and small, Including Signed Bands, YouTubers, and more. Some names include Cougar MacDowall, Jonathan Young, Caleb Hyles, Death Battle!, Ironmouse, CG5, Cristina Vee, Alukah, Varials, and many more.

I also play Guitar and Create Covers and Original Music on YouTube, which has led to Collaborations with Wizards of the Coast, Plugin Companies Such as RS Drums, ML Sound Lab, Neural DSP, Impact Soundworks, and more.

So much of my passion for connecting the human element in everything I do comes from the media I loved as a kid. I am a Huge Fan of Anime and Video Games. Watching Many series from such a young age, I can’t actually recall a time I wasn’t watching Gachaman (Then called G-force), Samurai Troopers (Then Ronin Warriors), or episodes of Gigantor and Speed Racer on VHS tapes with my Dad. Both of My Parents were also avid gamers (at least they were, until they had me. Sorry, Mom and Dad!), so I was so easily swept up into the world of musical compositions in Video Games as early as I could remember. I was a Sega Genesis generation baby, and as cliché as it was to admit, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and 3, Dynamite Headdy, and Ecco the Dolphin left Musical Imprints I’m never getting rid of. But the big one for me was watching my neighbor play through Final Fantasy VII at 8-years-old, and I have been obsessed ever since

In addition, I’ve come to love making Videos. I’m mostly shooting Music videos in my home studio for YouTube, but my aspirations are far larger. I’ve done work as a post-production Video Editor for Riot Games’ LCS, where I was bitten by the bug and have a huge love for filmed skits and productions as well.
